People's Climate March

This is an invitation to save the world.

In September, world leaders are coming to New York City for a historic summit on climate change. With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history.

Together, we’ll take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet. A world safe from the ravages of climate change. A world with good jobs, clean air, and healthy communities for everyone. A world free from the pollutants of war. An economy focused on improving the lives of all, rather than the building of toxic war machines.

Join us on Sunday, September 21st, because to change the world we need everyone on board.

As the CODEPINK crew, we'll gather in Central Park at 8:30am for coffee, croissants, and connecting, and to create a meaningful aerial image (Click for map) before joining the Peace, Justice & Climate Rally just steps away at 77th and Central Park West from 10am - 11:30am.  Speakers at the Peace, Justice and Climate rally will include Medea Benjamin, Bill McKibben, Erica Violet Lee, Margaret Stevens, Tom Hayden, and Fr. John Dear.  After the rally the CODEPINK Crew along with the rest of the Peace Table will join the larger march at Columbus Circle to carry our message that war is destroying the planet.

Bring your walking shoes!!  Starting at Columbus Circle, the march will head south along 6th Avenue, before turning west on 42nd street and then south on 11th Avenue.  At the culmination of the march we will participate in building the Climate Ribbon. The Climate Ribbon will be a massive installation and ritual space to grieve what each of us stands to lose to Climate Chaos, and affirm our solidarity as we unite to fight against it.
